Prague wants to build a second exit from metro station C Vltavská
Vltavská is not the only metro station where the second exit was planned. A similar case is Staroměstská or Strašnická
The Prague management is planning to build a second exit from the Vltavská C metro station, which has not been completed in the past. It will be created as part of the planned construction on the territory of Bubnů-Zátory. The space around the current output will also change. When asked by ČTK, Deputy Mayor Adam Scheinherr (Prague Sobě) said this today.
In the past, Prague acquired some unsightly parts at the exit and repaired works of art. Now, together with the DPP and the Capital City Gallery (GHMP), she has created a temporary open-air gallery and placed large-format photographs by Kevin V. Ton.
“In the area of today’s old Prague-Bubny railway station, the overall development and construction of the Bubny-Zátory area is expected to be completed. All outputs, as planned and considered in the study of the area, are incorporated into the ground floor of the buildings, “ said Scheinherr.
The current southern exit and its surroundings will also be built into the future surrounding development. There will also be a change of track and trams from the metro will go straight under the underpass, not towards the waterfront. A new railway station will also be created. Towards the embankment, Prague plans to build a new philharmonic building, which could begin in six years at the earliest. On the contrary, the sculptural group of fauna and flora at the exit of the metro, which has been repaired, should be preserved.
“But we are thinking about how to change it here in the short term, so that two new pedestrian crossings were created, unnecessary footbridges were demolished and the works of art, the Vltava and the sculpture of fauna and flora, were repaired. I have to take care of the passenger compartment, “ said Scheinherr. A new exhibition will also be installed here every three months.
Vltavská is not the only Prague metro station where a second exit was planned, but it was never completed. A similar case is Staroměstská or Strašnická on the route of line A. In the case of Staroměstská, the city has a study built on the construction of the output. “We don’t have the results yet, it’s up to the designer,” said Scheinherr. According to him, the city is rather considering completing barrier-free exits. If any of the entrances should be completed, it will probably be in the form of an elevator as on Národní třída on route B.
