Prague will not divide infirmaries. Turn it on, Babiš told councilors
At Tuesday’s meeting with the governors, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš told representatives of the capital that they could not control the distribution of aid on their territory.
“The regional coordinator is to coordinate vaccinations in the regions. But we have heard that, like Prague, we must forget that we will manage the distribution of permits. And the Prime Minister demonstrates this in practice by entering into the game and agreeing on who will get what, “described Milena Johnová (Prague Sobě), Prague’s health councilor, on Tuesday. The Prime Minister’s words are also confirmed by the mayor of Prague, Zdeněk Hřib (Pirates).
John described the distribution of vaccinations as a completely unpredictable mechanism. In Prague last week, hospitals received, for example, teaching hospitals or the State Institute of Public Health. According to John’s representatives of Prague, they called in vain to large distribution points and teaching hospitals, and it must be ascertained when the first dates for seniors will be in the central reservation system.
Next, we first tell us the specific role of Prague in vaccination management:
“You definitely can’t control the distribution of approvals.”
“Pay for it.”– Milena John (@ milejo12) January 19, 2021
“In Motol, we learned on Thursday that they will give the first date at the beginning of February, until then they will vaccinate their paramedics. And on Saturday morning, I read that the director of Motol had released all the benefits to the Central Reservation System. We don’t know whose instructions it was. We know for sure that our regional coordinator did not do it, “described John.
The cabinet also approved the construction of a large-capacity vaccination center at the O2 University in Liben on Monday, but the municipality did not inform about it.
When the representatives of Prague objected on Tuesday, who will distribute the drive in the capital, Andrej Babiš responded according to them: “It is not possible to say here who drives what. This cannot be controlled systemically. “
Criticism of governors
The allocation system is carefully criticized by such governors. In particular, those in smaller regions are upset that the state provides only a minimum of treatment for their hospitals, so their vaccination centers have nothing to vaccinate.
“Our region has five percent of the population of the Czech Republic, that is half a million, but so far we receive only two percent. The vaccine is mainly distributed to teaching hospitals. At the same time, our region pays the same number as the Karlovy Vary region, which is 150,000 smaller, ”pointed out the governor of the Pardubice region, Martin Netolický (ČSSD). The region he runs has no teaching hospital in its territory.
“The amount of safety is nothing but the number of people in a given area, the total population and the number of seniors,” Jan Blatný (for YES) responded to the question List of Reports of the Minister of Health on Monday. He later said in the House that the discrepancies could be caused by the fact that in the beginning there are fewer vaccination places than are already available at the moment.
According to the governors, there was even more explanation at the videoconference why some regions got reduced less. “Some of the reasoning was amusing. The Minister said that Pfizer was to blame. Mr. Premi denied it again, “said the Governor of the Liberec Region Martin Půta (SLK).
According to Půta, state representatives informed the governors that work was underway to register seniors without a specific deadline, without having to check the system regularly and try to “catch” the deadline. On the contrary, the system should contact the registered users itself and offer them free dates.
“I understand I’m working on it, and whenever possible, he’ll announce it. It needs to be a system that has been working in Poland since the beginning, that is all legitimate, and a system that it now evokes. It doesn’t make sense in a situation where there is a shortage, to create a queue for Favorit, and then tell those people that Favorit will be in a year, “said Půta.
Babiš and Blatný also announced to the governors that the registration of other age groups, which was to be operational from 1 February, will be postponed. “I find it reasonable. If it is not recommended here, there is no point in monitoring the pressure on other statistics or millions of people who will register and share that it is not treated, “explained the governor of the Liberec region.
