Voco™ Hotels opens in Strasbourg, France
IHG® Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hospitality companies, announces the opening of voco® Strasbourg Center – The Garden, marking the brand’s second opening in France, following the opening of voco® Paris Montparnasse last September. As one of IHG’s newest hotel brands, Voco™ combines the assurance of a global brand with the informality and charm of an individual hotel.
Strasbourg has a lot to offer those looking for a weekend break or to extend their business trip. Strasbourg Cathedral and the canals of Petite France on the UNESCO-listed Grande Ile are within walking distance of voco Strasbourg Center – The Garden. The hotel is less than a ten-minute walk from the city’s central train station, with direct trains available from Strasbourg Airport. The European Parliament is also a few minutes away by electric bus, with easy access to the new Archipel-Wacken business district and the Palais des Congrès.
The facade of voco Strasbourg Center – Le Jardin is inspired by the industrial era, with the original masonry dating from the 19th century highlighted by wrought iron. A nod to the green spirit of voco™ Hotels, the hotel name on the exterior is surrounded by plant details in the shape of ferns in the ironwork. The interior of the hotel deviates from the industrial vibe of the exterior and develops around the theme of the garden, creating an oasis of calm and tranquility, with the use of natural materials for the furnishings, the tropical plants and living walls that bloom in public spaces.
At voco Strasbourg Center – The Garden, every guest will experience the warm signature voco™ “come on in” welcome, promising easy and fast check-in, a locally inspired welcome gift and voco™ hosts dedicated staff offering a wealth of local knowledge available throughout their stay. The 120 rooms, many with their own terrace, combine a botanically inspired palette, with wood paneling and contrasting lighting.
Guests will rest easy knowing that the brand’s “Tread Lightly” ethos resonates throughout the hotel. This includes sustainable initiatives, such as aerated showerheads to reduce water consumption, and the use of glass water bottles eliminating an average of 300 plastic bottles per room per year. Additionally, as part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ commitment to move to bulk amenities, miniature bottles have been removed from the hotel and replaced with larger Korres products, generating 80% waste in less.
Set in leafy surroundings with a large outdoor terrace and lawn, the hotel’s restaurant, “The Garden”, offers all-day dining with menus combining international and local specialties created with local ingredients in mind. . For example, you can enjoy locally made and sustainably sourced juices, honey and jams at breakfast. There’s also a fully equipped gym, indoor pool, and spa with treatment rooms featuring a living wall, dim lights, and lounge chairs.
