However, Czech handicrafts and other Christmas-themed products can be bought at the markets on Vítězné náměstí, which are now organized every Saturday from 08:00 to 14:00 by the Farmers’ Markets association. Vítězné náměstí and Technická Street, where the stalls are located at intervals, were also visited today by Mikuláš with an angel and a devil, Hannich added.
The town halls of the third city district also do not count on Advent markets this year. According to spokeswoman Zuzana Křížková, however, the town hall is trying to help ensure that the Christmas assortment can be sold at farmers’ markets on Jiřího z Poděbrad Square. From today, they will be held again every Saturday.
On the contrary, at Anděl Praha 5 Christmas markets require it. They will be open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 08:00 until 20:00. “With regard to government regulations, they will be on a more limited scale. Only the assortment allowed by government regulations will be offered, “Tomáš Kopečný, a spokesman for Prague 5, told ČTK, adding that during shopping people must wear veils, observe every two metric intervals and cannot consume snacks and alcoholic beverages on the spot. “If you allow the situation, we will supplement the offered assortment,” we will state the mayor of Prague 5 Renáta Zajíčková (ODS).
The Advent Meeting will take place at Kozí plácka in Prague 1, organized by Prague 1 together with the Kozí plácek association. According to spokesman Martin Šebesta, the event will take place on Thursday, December 10, from 4:00 p.m.
Even the center of the metropolis will have to do without the Christmas markets, which are organized annually by the Taiko company on the Old Town and Wenceslas Square and on the Republic Square. In some parts of the city, however, there will be Advent concerts that the town hall will stream to the audience. The concerts will be arranged via the Internet, for example, in Prague 3 and Prague 8, as Martin Šalek, a spokesman for this part of the city, told ČTK.
