Prague has launched the Pražana Portal, and gradually has 88 suitable digital services
Portal of Prague is to be the city’s state time Citizen’s portal. Through it, the inhabitants of Prague have the opportunity to digitally solve a number of life situations. The city today launched the project in a pilot version.
So far, the portal offers only a few services in the test run. For example, a citizen can display information about their Lítačka card or book a date for its issue. They can also look at information on how they pay the waste collection fee, book a date for issuing a driver’s license, apply for the mayor’s patronage over their event or announce a public meeting.
About 30 more agendas should be added by the end of the year, promises the municipality and the city company ICT Operator, which developed the portal for Prague. Services that are already under negotiation include, for example, the agenda of parking in paid parking zones, the signing of a contract with Pražská plynárenská or the possibility of reducing the fine from the public transport auditor to CZK 50, which so far requires a personal visit to the Transport Company branch.
The municipality is also preparing an expansion to about 88 submissions or applications, which will be possible to process digitally via the Prague Portal. During the year 2021, the individual city districts should also start to join the portal.
“At the time of the publication of the pilot version, the cost of launching the Pražan Portal will reach almost 15 million crowns. The possibility of taking over the functionality from the Citizen’s Portal represents a cost saving of another approximately 10 to 15 million crowns, “he writes about the costs of building the Prague portal.
For the time being, people can log in to the Prague Portal only via a data box, an electronic ID card or via the NIA. The city promises increased interest in the service since the introduction of registration through a bank identity, which should start at the turn of the year.
The technological services run on the platform of the Citizen’s Portal, which the state provided to the city free of charge and which the ICT Operator adapted to Prague conditions. The company plans to further develop the portal – such as redesigning the front end to use interactive form technologies.
