A unique model of the planet Earth – terraloón – will be on display in the gardens of the Černín Palace of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. You will be exhibited here by the Association of Social Responsibility as part of the announcement of the SDGs Awards, which you will conduct on Thursday, September 17, 2020. The public will then have the opportunity to see the giant globe with their own eyes on Saturday, September 19, B “, where you will also see photographs by the world-famous art photographer Jan Saudek, who created a campaign called” Our Planet “.
For the fourth year in a row, SDGs Awards will recognize initiatives, products or services that meet global goals and thus change the Czechia and the world for the better. This year, which is again organized by the Association of Social Responsibility, brought several novelties. One of them is the Climate Change category, which is announced in cooperation with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The accompanying “Our Planet” campaign by the world-famous artist Jan Saudek was created.

The awards will be presented at a gala dinner in the gardens at the Czernin Palace at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, September 17, 2020. “The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals have an important place in Czech and foreign policy. They are visions of the world we are striving for. I am glad that the Czechia is one of the world leaders in fulfilling them. It is a great success, but also a commitment, “explains Tomáš Petříček, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.
On the occasion of the awards ceremony and the European Sustainable Development Week, there will be an exceptionally located inflatable model of the planet Earth – terraloón, which is a photorealistic representation of our planet in the form of an inflatable sphere with a diameter of 10 meters. The terralo is rotated by 23 ° so that Europe can be seen better when looking at it. Her model is on loan with the permission of the Brno Observatory and Planetarium. The model of the planet Earth and the accompanying exhibition including photographs by Jan Saudek will be exclusively on display in the gardens of the Černín Palace on Saturday 19 September 2020 between 9:00 and 21:00, which will be exceptionally open to the public on occasion.
