Great resistance to the completion of the Prague Ring Road. Almost 50 ‘lejster’ protesters have arrived Business
Tens of thousands of cars traveling from the D11 motorway in Hradec Králové currently have to go down to Černý Most. When the new part of the Prague Ring Road, which connects this exit with the already completed part of the bypass (at the exit from the Brno D1), is ready, they will be able to continue comfortably along the motorway – do not worry about the traffic jams and let the locals rest.
But I need a political increase in this construction at the governmental and municipal levels against it, or rather against its territorial decision, a large number of appeals have been received.
“To date (Thursday), we record 49 appeals,” Pavla Vinklářová from the construction department of the Prague 22 district told Lidovky.cz. The appeal of the town hall – physical or data – has rained down in recent days. Number 49 is probably final.
“Given the fact that the last submission to the post office could have been on August 31, 2020, in theory, all appeals should be delivered. Therefore, if there is no delay in delivering the mail, “added Vinklářová.

An interest association, individuals, villages near the capital and some smaller Prague City Halls are appealing against the building, which is to measure approximately 13 kilometers and cost approximately 9 billion crowns. For example Dolní Chabry or Horní Počernice. The situation is very spicy in the second mentioned part of the city, which lies in the southeast of Prague and thus near the future motorway bypass.
Representatives of the YES movement sit on its council. The magistrate’s club of the movement objected to their move, urging its companions to explain why it approved the appeal. Building the circuit was one of the priorities of the YES movement’s election program in the Prague elections. According to the club, the city district should therefore reconsider its position with regard to Prague-wide interests.
Processing will take up to a year
Appeals are now one step higher. They will have to read, assess and handle officials from the capital’s municipality. For example, “lejstra” from the villages of Veleň and Přezletice from the district of Praha-východ will arrive, from which the planned construction is quite far. However, it may bother them – as well as some more distant parts of the city or associations – that the next stage of building the Prague Ring Road will logically continue in the north of Prague, where there is great resistance to the construction.
If the construction could not be pushed through in the southeast and in the case of new plans “displaced” beyond the borders of Prague, the route would also move away from their houses and gardens. But then the circuit itself would disappear into the distance.
“It simply came to our notice then. I dare say that in such a case there will be no circuit under 20 years. At the same time, we met all noise limits and deepened the construction more than the required standards, “Radek Mátl told the Roads and Motorways Directorate (ŘSD) earlier for Lidovky.cz.
He believes that once the appeal is settled, preparations for the southeastern part of the circuit will continue. “It can take six to twelve months to process. If I am a realist, we will have a final zoning decision next summer, “Mátl estimated for Lidovky.cz. After obtaining the “stamp”, the purchase of land and the application for a building permit will follow. According to Mátl, construction of the southeastern part of the ring road between D1 and D11 will begin in mid-2022 at the earliest. Completion is then realistic in the next four years.
Even the completion of this section will be far from complete. To complete it, he now has more than half left: 44 more kilometers out of a total of 83. The first section, connecting Satalice and Běchovice, has been open since October 12, 1984, ie for 36 years. And the last time the tape was cut on the circuit was ten years ago, when the road between the Brno and Pilsen motorways opened.
