According to Nela Friebová, a spokeswoman for the Railway Administration, one of the reasons for the complications is the recent emergency situation in the traction currency in Prague-Chuchle. There was a reduction in traffic due to a lightning strike and a subsequent fire. However, the planned optimization of the line and related repairs will not end until July 2022.
The overall repair of the railway also includes the reconstruction of a temporary converter station, which will supply the traction line for the period of the reconstruction of the existing converter station. According to the spokesman, the railway administration, in cooperation with the builders, is speeding up the commissioning of this facility so that it takes place in the shortest possible time.
