‘I don’t understand why Prague should be in the yellow light.’ Boletus sees no reason to tighten measures iROZHLAS
It is not clear why Prague should be the only region in the country placed in the yellow level of the “traffic light”, ie the four-level classification of regions according to the level affected by the new coronavirus presented on Monday. The mayor of Prague, Zdeněk Hřib (Pirates), told reporters on Monday in response to the introduction of the system of the Ministry of Health by Adam Vojtěch (for YES).

According to Hřiby, Prague has a lower number of infected people per 100,000 inhabitants than many other districts, it does not have a higher share of community spread or more hospitalized.
The new system aims to divide the district-level regions into four risk levels marked in white, green, yellow and red. It was stated at Monday’s press conference that the capital would now be the only one to fall into the yellow, ie the second most serious category. The first map of districts classified according to epidemiological risk will be published by the Ministry of Health on August 3.
The mushroom said that although the Pirates came up with the idea of a clear action plan based on available data, the government’s implementation would be unfortunate. “And I don’t quite understand why Prague should be the only one in the higher level,” he said. He added that although he had not yet gone through the documents in detail because the government had not provided them to him in advance, he now did not see a crucial parameter in which the metropolis would be the worst from an epidemiological point of view.
Mandatory wearing of veils
In view of this, they now see no reason to tighten up the measures. In agreement with the municipality, the Prague hygienists introduced the obligation to cover their mouths and noses in addition to the hospital and non-residential medical facilities, such as pharmacies or doctor’s waiting rooms. “I think the measure is in line with the data at the moment,” the mayor said. In Prague, there is also an obligation to wear drapes in the metro, in surface public transport the management of the municipality and the transport company recommend it.

The system introduced by the government envisages that the risk assessment and the adoption of the necessary measures would continue to belong to the regional hygienic stations. At the second highest level, hygienists could reduce the number of participants in events, reduce business opening hours or set aside hospital beds. Employers should consider separating contact between employees on individual shifts. At the highest level of risk, there is probably a recommendation or obligation to avoid contact with other people and to limit the journey to the minimum necessary. The operation of school facilities or religious or sporting events would also be limited.
