Until now, Tesla brand customers had to dispense their cars abroad, today, ie March 11, 2020, but Tesla began officially handing over the cars in the showroom in Vysočany, where there is also an authorized service of this brand. Czech customers can order the Model S, Model X and Model 3, which is the most affordable and sought-after.

Tesla in Prague handed over the first models to its customers

Today, the first customers are taking over their Tesla cars in Prague. They usually had an order for a long time, but there are also those who ordered a more common version, which was already on its way to Europe at the time of the order, so they did not have to wait long. This is how Mr. Miroslav Plíhal, for example, one of the customers who took over the car today. “I ordered by January 9 or 10, so I only waited 2 months,“We are surprised by the answer to the question of how long he waited for the car.

Each Tesla car is handed over in person by a specialist

The handover takes place in such a way that the customer arrives at the agreed time, takes over its “delivery specialist” and explains how to operate the car in the Tesla Model 3 car in the showroom. Then they move in front of the showroom to the customer’s car, where he shows him other things on his particular car. This process takes about half an hour, of which 20 minutes in the showroom and the rest in the customer’s car. When a customer picks up a Model S or Model X, all the training takes place in his car. Tesla Model 3, however, clearly predominates among the cars being taken over.

Interestingly, Tesla does not register cars, as is common at many other car showrooms, so customers leave with a temporary paper registration plate and have to register themselves. “It is not possible to obtain the EL mark right away, so I had to apply for it and order a vehicle registration in advance so that I would not have to give a regular number plate and after two weeks change the registration in TP to number plate for electric cars,“Says Mr. Plíhal.

In this way, they hand over about 10 cars a day and about 40 cars are ready in the yard. Instead of handed over, however, others arrive because there are hundreds of orders. So it can be assumed that Tesel will increase significantly on the roads.

Although the first customers will be able to pick up the Model Y this week, we will have to wait for it in the Czech Republic for now. The date for launching the Model Y order is not yet known, and the first cars should not reach the needs until the end of 2021. So for the time being, Czechs interested in a more affordable electric car must be able to use the Model 3, or they will have to import the Model Y individually.
