Another part of the city does not want electric scooters, Prague 4 gave them a “red card”
While the Prague City Council is figuring out how to tighten the rules for the operation of Lime electric scooters, another part of the city has spoken out against their presence in the streets. Prague 4 agrees “fundamental not consent to the future operation of so-called green scooters” in its territory.
“Since the beginning of this year, Prague police officers have dealt with over 4,200 offenses caused by electric scooter users. Compared to 2018, when 758 offenses were dealt with, this is an increase of more than 450 percent. The situation has become unsustainable in Prague 4 as well, “argues the city district.
The town hall has already communicated its disagreement to the relevant departments of the Prague City Hall and to the Prague City Council. According to the deputy mayor Zdeněk Kovařík The management of Prague 4 has problems with one operator of shared bicycles.

“Contrary to the serious approach of the pink bicycle operator, Rekola, which tries to help residents and not hinder residents, shares mobility through green electric scooters and yellow bicycles, bothers and endangers,” he says. “Green electric scooters have a bright red card from us. The yellow wheels received an imaginary yellow card and now have room to correct, “he adds.
Lime green electric scooters in Prague have been running since last autumn. Problems soon arose, especially with the reckless driving of some drivers and parking the scooter in inappropriate places. That is why Prague 2 expelled Lime from its territory a year ago. This October, the memorandum of cooperation was also terminated by the municipality, which now wants to operate more stringent electric scooters.
