Representatives of Prague 5 have replaced the mayor, the new coalition is now without pirates
The current council, headed by Mayor Daniel Mazur (pirates), ended up at the head of Prague 5. Representatives of ODS, ANO, TOP 09, STAN and SNOP 5 removed her, then elected the current deputy mayor Renáta Zajíčková (for ODS) as the new mayor.
Three of the four coalition parties terminated their cooperation with the pirates on Monday. According to representatives of other parties, Mazur did not manage the management of the town hall. According to the pirates, they are representatives of the reasons, and in fact the representatives were upset that the problems with public procurement began to be solved.
The new mayor Renáta Zajíčková (on behalf of the ODS) was supported by the ODS, ANO, TOP 09 and STAN. It is these parties that together with the Association of Independent Citizens of Prague 5 (SNOP 5) will form a new coalition. Pirates and the KDU-ČSL club will remain in opposition. The deputies also elected councilors and deputy mayors, most of whom also served on the current council.
Zajíčková announced that she has been building a private high school for 15 years and I recommend the new position for caring how to contribute to a better life in Prague 5. “In the last ten months, I think I have taken my role seriously and responsibly our part of the city matters and that I like working for it. ”
“I am entering the position of mayor with great humility and at the same time courage, and I am ready to improve and meaningfully develop Prague 5, listen to its inhabitants and seek reasonable solutions to the often complex problems of our part of the city,” says Zajíčková.
The coalition intends to start the development of the city district. He wants to focus primarily on the construction of homes for the elderly, primary schools in Smíchov, dignified ceremonial halls and the revitalization of Motol ponds. The current mayor wished his successors a lot of success and patience in solving the complicated problems it brought, and subsequently handed over to her the mayoral chain.
Pirates see a public procurement dispute behind the appeal
The proposal to dismiss the mayor was submitted by the chairman of the SNOP 5 club, Jiří Vejmelka. Pirates and SNOP 5 ran together in the last election, but then quarreled and split into two clubs.
“We see the problem mainly in fulfilling the planned investments. The pirates not only did not come up with new projects, but also practically stopped those that were already running in some way, “commented Martin Damašek from the TOP 09’s appeal.
Vejmelka stated that in the whole ten months the mayor had not taken a single concrete step regarding the strategic development of the city district, even though he was in charge of it.
But pirates see reasons elsewhere. “We have touched on the issue of public procurement, both systemic and specific doubts,” Mazur described what the real motive for his appeal was. According to him, pirates in the town hall management can find out problems in awarding contracts and set up procedures so that the problems do not recur.
Mazur added that he had commissioned the audit of the contract for the Kudrn playground in the Department of Public Space and Greenery Management under the responsibility of Councilor Martin Slabý (YES). The city district paid six million crowns for the playground, according to the prepared audit and the subsequent revision audit, the reasonable price is half. According to pirates, this is not an isolated case.
Weak in response questioned the quality of the first audit and, according to him, the audit did not evaluate the content of the original reports. According to him, the mayor in the coalitions refused to negotiate a local referendum on the construction of a new lock chamber. According to former coalition partners and the current opposition, the mayor’s office also committed a number of mistakes, due to which the city districts were threatened with sanctions. For example, due to the cancellation of the contract for the reconstruction of the historic Raudnitz House, the town hall avoided a fine of 20 to 50 million crowns, according to the chairman of the ANO club, Jan Trojánek.
It was also discussed that Mazur has a permanent residence in Prague 5, but in fact lives in Zličín. Similarly, criticism also affected the newly elected mayor. She responded that even though her family owns a house in Prague 13, where she sometimes resides, she has a permanent residence in Prague 5 and feels like a resident.
