Where is the heat in Prague 8 and there is no greenery? The map will tell you where to live badly
Those who feel bad in the territory of Prague 8 due to the heat, lack the missing or dry option, should now tell the local officials. He simply puts his impressions into an emotional map, which the city district recently published on its own the web.
After clicking, the applicant indicates the places where he thinks the problems occur. They can then specify their knowledge in a description, where it is also possible to propose appropriate measures.
You can also enter a location in the map where there is insufficient infiltration of rainwater. On the contrary, it is not possible to mark places where people are cold or sad, for example. Finally, the user fills out a short questionnaire and sends the map to officials who evaluate it.
Work for a new department
But this is not a complete novelty. Prague 8 already had a map in the past. “But the data analysis has not been fully completed. We would like to analyze the collected data better, “explained Deputy Mayor Tomáš Tatranský (United Forces for Prague 8). Compared to the previous project, the current application is more focused on the environment. “We launched it so that the citizens could tell us what to improve, where to supervise the maintenance of greenery and cleaning,” added Tatranský.
The obtained data will be processed by the new spatial development department, which is a small team that recalls the spatial plan and communicates with developers. The evaluation will then be the responsibility of the mayor.
Similar maps are not unique elsewhere in the Czech Republic. It has already been used, for example, in Olomouc and Krnov. Sometimes municipalities resort to “offline variants”, where city representatives meet directly with citizens and colored pins are inserted into the printed map. This method proved successful, for example, in Brno during the creation of a strategy for the city.
The results are most often used by the municipality as supporting materials for planning investment projects, creating transport concepts or as information for the city police.
