Where to go for a drink in the Czech Republic when you get bored of Prague and Brno
Well, frostbite may be a strong word. But you probably know it – the weekend is approaching and you are thinking about where to enjoy Friday and Saturday night. You have a taste for something new and a creeping feeling that you have already seen everything in Prague and Brno, or you simply do not want to go to bigger cities.
Whatever your desire to escape is driven, you can easily go to the regions for a good drink. Here are five tips that won’t let you down.
Thir, Tabor (Provaznicka 1)
Whoever was in Tabor and not in Thir, as if he were not in Tabor, is said. Respectively, he doesn’t say, but he could. And even though it’s not exactly a bar, Thir deserves a place in our selection. The menu includes excellent local wines, which you can do with all evening. And if you like, choose one of the three main evening meals, local ingredients are also an advantage.
What to drink: Excellent Pinot Noir by Petr Kočařík
Windy Point, Černá v Pošumaví
And now a bit unconventional tip. On this sandy beach (don’t expect anything from the classic bathing centers) near Lipno, you will find a really good bar, where bartenders demonstrate their Czech flairbartending champion David Neumann. There is also a lot of sports on site, where you would like to fix your conscience after a busy evening.
What to drink: Bahama mama… like in Nassau!
Gin & Tonic Bar, Olomouc (Dolni namesti 40)
Small range, big performance. This Olomouc company, which someone called a fellow on Trip Advisor, has a respectable offer of gins, over which you can spend a weekend. And if you have not yet tasted such a popular distillate, know that the knowledgeable staff will take care of the opposite.
What to drink: Pink Collins
Pharmacy Cocktail Bar, Cesky Krumlov (Latran 46)
A cozy place with a vaulted ceiling is a must-see for all bar lovers when visiting picturesque Krumlov. The combination of the atmosphere of the past, the unexpectedly varied offer of spirits and knowledgeable staff will make you completely forget that you wanted to see a castle and a revolving auditorium.
What to drink: Old-fashioned
Cocktail Bar Barborska, Kutna Hora (Barborska 35)
That you haven’t had a drink in Kutná Hora yet? It’s high time to fix it. This Art Nouveau-style bar will pleasantly surprise you with its cocktail level and prices. What you spend in Prague in an hour will be enough for you in the evening. And when you wake up the next day, you can go to the Philip Morris Tobacco Museum to finish the ravaged Kutná Hora ride properly.
What to drink: Ernest Hemingway’s special
