Žižkov and more broadly Prague 3 has been experiencing popularity in recent years. The Markets on Jiřák are very popular among Prague residents, but the fame of cultural events held in the Atrium or in the cult Jára Cimrman Theater is also growing.

According to the Deputy Mayor of Prague 3 for Culture Alexander Bella, the recipe is simple. “We are just trying to make our people live well. We rely on the support of culture and modern technologies. People see it and thanks to that, Prague 3 is today a very popular location for living, “he says.

Meeting in the markets

The already mentioned Trhy na Jiřáku entered the second season this year, when it is directly operated by the town hall. “It simply came to our notice then. They told us that the town hall could not do it, but everyone could repeat it regularly on Jiřího z Poděbrad Square. We have not only managed to operate the markets, but we have also managed to improve them, and we plan further improvements this year, “explains Bella.

According to him, visitors can look forward to further expansion of the range of stallholders, accompanying music products and other leisure activities. “We want the markets to be a meeting place. So that it is not only a marketplace where you can buy quality products, but also a place where families can spend time, ”represents the vision of Prague 3 Bella.

Concerts and eights

But it will not just stay with the markets. Even this year, people can look forward to the next years of the popular Mercado cultural festivals or the Taste of Italy event on Jiřího z Poděbrad Square. “Add to this regular concerts not only of serious mushrooms in the beautiful premises of the baroque Atria Chapel in Žižkov, the next year of SIGNAL or the Destiny Eight project, which will commemorate a significant anniversary of our history this year,” lists Bella’s cultural events in Prague this year. 3.

Bella is a symbol of changes in Prague 3 in a modern city district. He will celebrate his 31st birthday in May this year. However, despite his youth, he is one of the key politicians of the third part of the city. He leads the local ODS and defends the interests of Prague 3 at the capital city hall, where he, together with other representatives, has succeeded in enforcing the return of metro line D to Žižkov.
