The municipal court in Prague rejected the lawsuit against the candidacy of the association Praha Sobě, which is led by the mayor of Prague 7 and MP Jan Čižinský in the autumn elections. “However, the court did not find such serious errors and reasons that would lead to the exclusion of the participant’s participation in the elections to the municipal council, even in the documents of the registration procedure based on the motion of the petitioner (political party, editor’s note). The claim of the proposal is based on assumptions and hypotheses about the error rate of signatures, it is not based on significant indications or specific knowledge about the requirements of the candidate list,” the court’s ruling reads.

The court also received a lawsuit from the Mayors and Independents movement (STAN) against the candidate Starostov pro Praha, which, according to STAN, uses the word starostov with the aim of confusing voters.
“At the same time, the representation of mayors on the candidate list of the Pro Prague movement is not even ten percent. You will find former candidates of other parties on the candidate list,” the STAN movement said in a press release. Due to lawsuits, the municipality has not yet been able to draw numbers for the lists of candidates who will compete for mandates in the Prague council.
Municipal elections will be held on October 5 and 6, along with elections for thirds of the Senate.
