They live in a beautiful and exceptional part of Prague Opinions
Only its location is exceptional. It is surrounded on three sides by the Vltava River and on the fourth by the popular Stromovka and Letenské sady parks with unrepeatable views of Prague. When it comes to the Vltava, we have one of the longest banks in Prague and we make every effort to use it completely interconnected and adapted for residents and visitors. In the summer, we managed to open a path that connects the Vltava bank between the Barricade Bridge and the Troja Bridge. I consider this an extraordinary success. It is seldom possible for the city to regain the previously lost bank of the river. From now on, we will all get from the ZOO to Stromovka and further to the Libeň Bridge and around the entire meander of the Vltava.
Another great advantage of our part of the city is its huge cultural background. We have two national museums and a number of galleries – from the large and renowned ones, such as the National Gallery or Dox, to the smaller ones with a distinctive atmosphere, theaters, a traditional cinema and a large number of art associations and creative people. That is why the Art District 7 project was created, which is focused on the support and care of the culture that makes our part of the city unique.
Prague 7 is also exceptional for its rich neighborhood life taking place in both the real and virtual worlds. The local people have a great desire to participate in public life and participate in the running of our part of the city. We do everything we can to keep in touch with them. Every day I see my neighbors from Prague 7 on the street, we write e-mails, we communicate via the network or the Better Place application and suggestions for improvement are possible as quickly as possible. We also organize public hearings of important projects and once a month meetings in the beer pub. We want to involve everyone who has the desire and energy to do something, from the youngest to the oldest. At the council, we therefore attend performances for children and minors, schoolchildren are currently deciding on the use of participatory budgets in schools, we will elect a student mayor and establish a senior council.
Personally, I consider it extremely important and valuable how people in Prague 7 are in solidarity and always ready to help each other. Just when there is a mention on social networks that someone got in trouble, there are immediately a number of willing people who are ready to lend a helping hand. Solidarity funds operate in schools and kindergartens, where parents can contribute to poorer children or clubs, citizens also send money to a lunch account for children who cannot eat with their classmates, restaurants cook for free for seniors, and with the Parish Charity we organize collections of material and food aid and I could go on like this for a long time. In short, when someone needs help, we first give people room for solidarity, and then we burden the budget. Mostly, it does without a budget, which only confirms my words about a beautiful and exceptional part of the city.
