Avia will be manufactured in Přelouč, and there is a lack of qualified staff in Prague
The Czechoslovak Group (CSG) will resume production of Avia medium-sized trucks. The production will take over the plant in Přelouč in the Pardubice region. Initially, it will be hundreds a year. The group also owns the Tatra in Kopřivnice, the owner of the holding is the Czech armourer Jaroslav Strnad.
“And if all goes well, we could eventually reach the limit of 1,000 cars a year,” Strnad said in a press release.
The carmaker is preparing to start production of modernized D-series vehicles. The traditional logo, which is used until the company was taken over by the Indian group Ashok Leyland, will return to the cars. CSG bought Avia a few months ago.

There is a lack of qualified people in Prague, which is why Přelouč
The group owns a production plant in Letňany, Prague, where thousands of cars were produced in the past. The area is too large and unprofitable for less numerous production. There are not even qualified employees in Prague, so the management will move to Přelouč by the end of the year. The management has not yet decided how the group will handle the Letňany race.
The holding’s portfolio includes the production and sale of military and special vehicles, off-road trucks, weapons and weapon systems, ammunition, engineering products for the automotive, railway and aerospace industries and brake systems for rail vehicles, as well as road transport and logistics services. The companies that own the holding last year employed almost 4,000 people and earned 12 billion crowns.
