Ferris wheel have all the stamps by the end of next year. Prague 5 has confirmed the lease of the land
The management of Prague 5 has signed a contract for a new plot of land on Hořejší nábřeží for Russian bicycle construction with Timsbury Capital. She wants to build a bike. However, the company must obtain a number of consensus, including that from conservationists. According to the lidovky.cz server, the company must obtain all stamps by the end of 2017. If this fails, the contract will be terminated. The bike should be 60 meters high. The opposition and some residents who have already written a petition are protesting against the building.
According to the signed document, the company would pay the town hall 56,500 crowns per month for the lease of the land, and would start paying from January 2017. In the case of construction, the lease should be agreed by 2026.
The bike would stand on part of today’s Aréna playground, which has an area of 6,327 square meters. During the construction, part of the gaming equipment located next to the playground will be dismantled. The trees are not felled. The bike is to have 42 cabins with eight seats, to make five turns per hour and to drive 1680 people per hour. Timsbury Capital was established in April this year.
Opposition deputies and conservationists opposed the construction, who a few weeks ago stated through their boss Jiří Skalický that they would not give the bike permission. Mayor Adriana Krnáčová (YES) considers it unnecessary. People began to sign a petition against the building. The petitioners are asking the city council to repeal their resolution affecting the construction of the bike. They also demand the preservation of the current sports complex with a children’s playground, and they also want the town hall to start developing the Smíchov embankment.
