From Iceland — Minimalistic Painting for this week’s #GVPics Instagram contest
There is a lot happening in Iceland right now; kids are starting school, some are preparing for winter and painting their houses, while others are enjoying the last days of summer by taking walks by the harbor. Of course, it wouldn’t be Iceland without tourists taking pictures of anything that catches their eye.
Check out the winners and runners-up in this week’s Instagram contest, and remember to keep tagging your photos #gvpics for a chance to be next week’s champion!
Some kids would rather just work instead of starting school.
Fireworks ended a cultural night held over the weekend.

Fishing doesn’t get any better than this.
So close yet so far.
A lighthouse is still visible on foggy days in Iceland.
And then this boat is in sight.
Congratulations, Alexander. Your photo may be mistaken for a painting. The way you captured your walk by the harbor makes even foggy days beautiful. There’s a t-shirt and a Grapevine goodie bag waiting for you in our office (or in the mail).
Thanks to all the Instagrammers who entered this week’s contest! Keep finding creative ways to capture the beauty of Iceland on your phone and be sure to follow along @RVKgrapevine and use the hashtag #GVpics to compete in the competition next week.
