When the Prague City Hall decided in 2009 to build a new headquarters for the Prague Rescue Service in Troja, it certainly did not expect that construction would not begin in 2016 either. Instead of running for four years, the modern building is still on paper. The municipality is promoting it despite the resistance of the Troja district, according to which the building is not suitable for the given place at all.
add a lawsuit so construction can begin. Radek Lacko (ANO), a Prague councilor for health care, turned to the representatives of the Prague Troja district with such a request. A court dispute between Prague and Troja is blocking the start of construction of a new headquarters and facilities for the Medical Rescue Service of the capital city of Prague. “The court proceedings have not yet been ordered. If he does not withdraw the lawsuit, it may take another year, “said Lacko.
However, in the opinion of Mayor Troja Tomáš Bryknar (Trojan Horse 2014), the city district has no reason to change its mind until the court decides. “We have a council resolution of 2015. This says that the city district should defend the administrative action against the location of these buildings,” says Bryknar.
It is uncertain whether the question of the location of the rescue headquarters will occur at the next meeting of the Trojan representatives. This topic is not yet included in the program. On the contrary, there is an application in Troja about the restoration of the river landscape in the Troja Basin and the use of the river floodplain for recreation.
It is essential for the Prague ambulance to have a new building as soon as possible, where the rescue facilities, including the administration, control room, garage or training center, would be created in one place. Whether it will be in Troy or another place with good transport accessibility is not crucial. Petr Kolouch, the director of the Prague ambulance service, said this some time ago on Czech Radio. There should also be one ambulance and a heliport in the building.
For example, the location of a new building in Bulovka was previously considered. But there, the building would be more expensive, because it would be built on a slope. There was also talk of land in Palmovka. According to Lack, however, Prague is not currently looking for an alternative plot of land. The construction in Troja should cost about 400 million crowns.
Location of the new Prague ambulance building, which is being promoted by the municipality
“There is no time for delays, too much money has been invested and rescuers have been waiting desperately long to build a new rescue service,” says Lacko. The project has a zoning decision. Of the necessary stamps for the building permit, Prague lacks practically only the consent of the Troja district. “Representatives who support or enforce this completely godly project will, in the eyes of the public, be saviors who have literally saved the ambulance,” the Prague councilor appeals to the Trojan council.
Due to the construction of a new ambulance building in 2012, Prague representatives changed the zoning plan. Opponents of the construction draw attention not only to the importance of the local landscape, but also to the danger of floods. In order to meet the needs of the city district, the Prague management decided to reduce the original project by one floor.
