Prague Airport demands electricity and gas. For three years for hundreds of millions
Václav Havel Prague Airport has announced a tender for electricity and gas suppliers for the years 2018 to 2020. The airport estimated the value of the electricity supply contract at approximately 240 million crowns, and the value of the gas consumption contract at approximately 146 million crowns. This follows from the information published in the Public Procurement Bulletin.
The current supplier of electricity to Prague Airport is Pražská energetika. Last year, it won a tender for a two-year energy supply with a price of 214 million crowns for an expected consumption of 220,000 megawatt-hours.
Prague Airport formally buys electricity for the entire Czech Aeroholding, as it holds a state license to purchase and sell electricity. Electricity will also be used by other companies based at the airport, including air carriers. An exception is the state-owned company Air Traffic Control, which buys energy independently.
Czech Aeroholding was established in 2011. It brings together state-owned companies operating in the field of air transport. In addition to Prague Airport, they are part of the former CSA subsidiaries – Czech Airlines Technics, Czech Airlines Handling and Czech Airlines Services, which provide personnel services. Aeroholding also holds a minority stake in Czech Airlines.
