The Russian authorities subsequently launched an investigation into the whole incident. The Chinese embassy in Moscow immediately sent its consular officials to the airport to help with the investigation.
Chinese airlines Hainan Airlines started flying between Beijing and Prague last September. At that time, after many years, Prague received a new long-distance air route and the very first Czech-Chinese direct connection.
