The most solid system
According to experts, however, the Czech pension system is one of the most solid and the pensions of people with low earnings do not differ so significantly from the pensions of those who earned hundreds of thousands. People with low wages do not worry too much in retirement, high-income people have a fraction of their former parts.
Pensions from the pension system make up the vast majority of Czech seniors ‘and seniors’ income. It pays more every year than is collected. At the end of September, the deficit reached 22 billion crowns. Revenues from levies amounted to approximately 261 billion, expenditures almost 283 billion.
An expert pension commission is working on proposals for changes to the pension system that could eventually lead to its balance and sustainability. For example, it calculates the possibilities of supporting one’s own savings in old age. The former right-wing government has pushed through the so-called second pillar, in which people should retire. Sobotka’s cabinet canceled him.
