The Bohemians 1905 footballers became the first quarterfinalists of the MOL Cup. The Prague team defeated the second league Jihlava 1-0 on their field. The only goal was scored by Roman Květ in the 55th minute from the penalty, the first penalty kick of “Klokanů” was not converted by Vojtěch Novák in the opening half.
The Bohemians had the upper hand in Ďolíček from the beginning. The lead was taken after half an hour of play, but Novák could have shot the Jihlava goal high in half an hour. Květ managed to deal with the second home penalty safely after the change of sides. The favorites at the end could add insurance, but Vysočina goalkeeper Jágrik eliminated the great chances of alternating Keita and Krch.
The “Kangaroos” lost the lead and partially improved their mood after the failures in the top competition, where they lost in four of the last five rounds and are in tenth place in the table.
On Wednesday, Mladá Boleslav and Pilsen, Ostrava with Hradec Králové and Teplice will play against Sparta in the next eight-final matches.
