Prague is opening its data to developers – for example, download data from a 3D model of Prague
“We consulted representatives of companies and civic associations on how to open the data. They will work with them the most and we want to meet them. “ states the director of IPR Petr Hlaváček.
From today, those interested can download, for example, data from a 3D model of Prague, a zoning plan or a noise map. It will be interesting for the public to be able to download the latest orthophoto map of the whole of Prague.
This and many other data is so open to the invention and creativity of developers, who can supplement data from other sources and connect and analyze in any way. Individual new applications of the availability of various services in localities may arise. In addition, new products created by open data may be of a commercial nature.
Only last weekend’s workshop, where several programmers had data that is now publicly available, brought a number of useful solutions. It was created, for example analysis showing how close to the metro and the distance from the center of the center is the land station.
“Only personal expenses directly in the IPR will be charged. We estimate that together those interested in data will save up to a million crowns a year, “ adds Hlaváček.
IPR will gradually expand the offer of open data. Open IPR data can be found at www.geoportalpraha.cz.
