In the summer, new tram stops will be built in the center of Prague
The summer reconstruction of tram tracks is a welcome change for many Praguers. Ropid, who is in charge of public transport in Prague, will build new stops in the center of the metropolis in addition to repairs. Prague 9 and 10 will see them. He introduced today’s Ropid spokesman Filip Drápal.
In connection with the planned reconstruction of Bělehradská Street, a new Otakarova stop should be established between Otakarová and IPPavlova, which will be at the beginning of Bělehradská Street. The aim is to improve the transfer between the individual lines within the Otakarova stops.
At the same time, a new Pod Karlovem stop could be built on Bělehradská a few hundred meters higher in Vinohrady, in the direction from Nusle. So far, trams stop here only in the direction from IPPavlov, there is no stop in the upward direction.
According to Ropid spokesman Filip Drápal, the establishment depends on the specific project and spatial possibilities. The City Hall of Prague 9 approached Ropid with a request that a new stop on Poděbradská Street between Harfa and Podkovářská.
Changes are also waiting for passengers on the lines in Švehlova Street in Prague 10. The Hostivař Shopping Center stop should be newly established. At present, people have to go to the center from the Na Groši or Sídliště Zahradní Město stops.
Ropid has already had a Karlovo náměstí stop opposite the CTU building in the direction of Spálená Street. Passengers who change from the tram leaving IPPavlov no longer have to go through the underpass to the stop opposite the glass office building.
