Jack Strindlund (20) is from Sweden, but has come to Norway to serve Christmas table-happy Norwegians. The Christmas table season is an important contributor to the economy going around for the Swede.
Together with his colleagues in the catering industry, he followed today’s press conference on new corona measures with used eyes. The measures taken by the government make him nervous about the future.
– I’m worried, especially for the Christmas table season since I’m here to work during the holidays. As it is now, I do not know how long I can be here. Everything is very uncertain when the rules are changed in such a short time, says Strindlund.
Strindlund can be right. Although the government says it is possible to conduct events and Christmas dinners with the new rules, reservations are now disappearing at a rapid pace.
The friend is unsure whether the measures have an effect anymore.
– It’s okay to touch a roof. But one should also not ask questions about how many are hospitalized and how dangerous the virus really is, says Patrick Skinstad (19).
– Unfortunate month
Raman Aslan is a taxi driver and bus driver. From midnight onwards, he must wear a bandage.
– We have managed it before, and can do it again. But I think the month is a bit unlucky. As a taxi driver, I see that there are many who are out at Christmas dinners and shopping. It’s not long since it opened, so I’m used.
– I’m also a little bored, but the disease is all over the world yet, so I think it’s okay to wear a face mask. People should feel safe in my taxi, says Aslan.
Disagree board
The three friends Martin Nkorden (22), Roar Brorson (25) and Marcus Nybo (22) hold each other, but disagree on whether it is correct with several measures now.
– I think it has gone too far now. The authorities should not be so strict. I understand that there are older people and people with poor immune systems. But the younger ones lose their freedom, and they are healthy, says Nkorden.
– Yes, but for the good of all. One must think of all the groups, then it is logical to take measures when there is a greater danger. For my part, it’s not a problem, but I understand that someone is bored, my friend Brorson adds.
